Volunteer with us
Volunteers are what make this library possible!
By volunteering for just three x 2.5-hour sessions a year, you’ll receive a significant discount on your membership.
If you have the capacity to volunteer more often (or know someone who does, even if they’re not a member) — we’d be so grateful.
You’ll receive support and training to use our simple online system, help members borrow and return toys, check that incoming toys are clean and complete, and keep our shelves organised. You’ll be paired with someone who has volunteered before, so don’t worry — you won’t be on your own!
You’re welcome to bring your kids when you volunteer (many members do). The South Hobart Community Centre is within a fenced playground, and we love having little helpers around!
You can nominate yourself — or someone volunteering on your behalf — for the sessions that suit you via our online database.
